ALL ABOUT PAUL

Welcome dear visitor to Paultopia! My name is Paul Blumstein - founder, owner, creative genius, and janitor at Paultopia Design Works.

I'm an illustrator, graphic designer, photoshop retoucher, and digital artist

with over 30 years of experience.

I've produced illustrations, graphic design materials, and photo retouch work for some of America's largest, and smallest known companies and institution, including:

Pocket Books, Random House, IBM, Fidelity Investments, Coca-Cola, The Weekly Reader for Kids, NASA, Warner Bros., and The Culinary Institute of America.

I started my career creating everything by hand - using  paints, and brushes, and pencils. Additionally, I used some pre-computerzoic technology, an airbrush!

But technology has taken hold, so today I create most of my commercial work on the computer, and have expert skills using Adobe's illustrator, Photoshop, Animate, and InDesign programs.

The computer has had a revolutionary effect on the creative community. Today, artists, designers, and photographers have much more latitude - so many more tools with which to create. At times you can get so excited that you can easily lose your focus and end up needlessly, or inappropriately using these tools because "they're there."

The challenge is to be able to co-ordinate it all.

Like a conductor, making all that technology stuff Adobe Photoshop, illustrator, etc, work together to create a unified image or product. If you can't get all those musicians working in unison you could end up  with a mess on your hands.

So, until Ai technology rules the world, ( which no doubt will one day happen), human talent and creativity will remain the gold standard in producing awesome imagery.

That orchestrated creativity stuff is where I come in. I know you're searching for talent - why else would you be here? In addition to talent, you're also going to want reliability. You don't stay in this business too long if you're not talented and reliable. And I've been here for quite a while.

I've worked with a myriad of art directors, designers, publishers, business, and marketing departments.

I come equipped with a wry sense of humor ( just ask the friends I've paid off to say so), which really comes in handy during a deadline crunch, an environment in which I'm completely comfortable.

With all that in mind, if you're searching for someone to make your project even more spectacular than you imagine - please just toss me an email and I'll be super happy to talk to you about your project.

Until then - Thanks for visiting Paultopia - an enchanting world of visual wonder!

Sincerely,
